Crowdcast, Inc. (“Crowdcast”) knows that you care about how your personal information is used and shared, and we take your privacy seriously. Please read the following to learn more about our privacy policy. By visiting using or participating in Crowdcast’s prediction markets services, or visiting our website, and any other linked pages, features, content, or application services offered from time to time by Crowdcast in connection therewith (collectively, the “Service(s)”), you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy.
What Does This Privacy Policy Cover?
This Privacy Policy covers Crowdcast’s treatment of personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) that Crowdcast gathers when our users (“Users”) are accessing Crowdcast’s Services. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Crowdcast does not own or control, or to individuals that Crowdcast does not employ or manage.
What Personal Information Does Crowdcast Collect?
The information we gather from Users enables us to personalize and improve our Services, to allow our Users to set up a User account and profile that can be used to participate in (and interact with other Users through) the Services, to provide you with information, updates, offers and other communications related to our Services, and to analyze and report on the results of the Services for the benefit of our corporate, industry, market research and other clients who invite Users to participate in the Services (collectively, our “Clients”). We collect the following types of information from our Users.
Personal Information You Provide to Us:
We receive and store any information you enter in connection with our Services or provide to us in any other way. The types of Personal Information collected may include your name, User screen name, email address, IP address, and browser information, as well as information regarding the specific predictions (or fictitious “trades”) you make in connection with your participation in the Services (including responses to surveys) and your related commentary and postings with respect thereto (collectively “Prediction Information”). You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of all of our Services offerings.
Personal Information Collected Automatically:
- We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with our Services. Crowdcast automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information, and the page you requested.
- Generally, our Service automatically collects usage information, such as Prediction Information and the numbers and frequency of visitors to our Services and its components. Crowdcast only uses this data in aggregate form, that is, as a statistical measure, and not in a manner that would identify you personally. This type of aggregate data enables us to figure out how often Users use parts of the Services so that we can make the Services appealing to as many Users as possible, improve those Services, and to analyze and report on the results of the Services for marketing and other purposes.
E-mail Communications:
We may receive a confirmation when you open an email from Crowdcast if your computer supports this type of program. Crowdcast uses this confirmation to help us make emails more interesting and helpful and improve our service. If you do not want to receive email or other mail from us, please indicate your preference during the registration process or by making a modification on your account page.
What About Cookies?
- Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and tell us how and when pages in our Services are visited and by how many people. Crowdcast cookies do not collect Personal Information, and we do not combine the general information collected through cookies with other Personal Information to tell us who you are or the identity of your screen name or email address.
- Most browsers have an option for turning off the cookie feature, which will prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, as well as (depending on the sophistication of your browser software) allowing you to decide on acceptance of each new cookie in a variety of ways. We strongly recommend that you leave the cookies activated, however, because cookies enable you to take advantage of some of our Services’ most attractive features.
How Does Crowdcast Share Any of the Personal Information it Receives?
Personal Information about our customers is an integral part of our business. We neither rent nor sell your Personal Information to anyone. We share your Personal Information only as described below.

- Prediction Information and other Aggregate Information: As part of our Services offerings, we may provide our Clients aggregate information about how such Client’s Users, collectively, use our Services. We share this type of data so that our Clients understand how often people use certain aspects of the Services and can receive the benefit of the results of their Users’ participation in the Services. For example, our Clients will be provided access to reports and other data containing results and analyses of Prediction Information accumulated by Crowdcast as a result of such Client’s Users’ participation in the Service. Such information may be categorized and analyzed in various ways for our Clients, but such Prediction Information will not identify the specific predictions of any named User and will only be associated with particular Users to the extent described below.
- Leaderboards and Profiles: As part of your participation in the Services, Crowdcast keeps leaderboards that show each User’s (and various categories of Users’) relative performance in each prediction market by User screen name. Each applicable Client, as well as other Users participating in the same prediction market, will have access to leaderboards that show your User screen name in connection with your performance in the market. Please remember that if you want to keep your identity anonymous in this respect, you must make sure your User screen name is unrelated to your actual name. In addition, any information you enter in your profile fields as part of registration will be viewable by the applicable Client and other Users participating in the same prediction market (but such information would not be coupled with your personally identifying information).
- Comments; Replies: In addition, if you elect to post comments and replies on the Service in connection with your predictions or otherwise, your comments and replies will be viewable by other Users in that prediction market and your User screen name will typically be associated with such comments and replies, except that comments made at the time you make particular prediction (which relate to that prediction) will not be associated with your screen name. In addition, relevant comments and replies may be shared with Clients as part of reporting on various aspects of Prediction Information (e.g., a comment may be used to illustrate why a prediction market is believed to have moved in a certain direction).
Agents: We employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and need to share your information with them to provide Services to you. Unless we tell you differently, Crowdcast’s agents do not have any right to use Personal Information we share with them beyond what is necessary to assist us. You hereby consent to our sharing of Personal Information for the above purposes.
Business Transfers: In some cases, we may choose to buy or sell assets. In these types of transactions, customer information is typically one of the business assets that is transferred. Moreover, if Crowdcast, or substantially all of its assets were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Crowdcast goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, customer information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Crowdcast may continue to use your Personal Information as set forth in this policy.
Protection of Crowdcast and Others: We may release Personal Information when we believe in good faith that release is necessary to comply with that law; enforce or apply our conditions of use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Crowdcast, our employees, our Users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
