Dr. Andrew McAfee

Dr. Andrew McAfee studies the ways that information technology (IT) affects businesses and business as a whole. He coined the phrase “Enterprise 2.0” in a spring 2006 Sloan Management Review article to describe the use of Web 2.0 tools and approaches by businesses. McAfee’s book on Enterprise 2.0 was published in November 2009 by Harvard Business School Press. He is the author or co-author of more than 100 articles, case studies and other materials for students and teachers of technology. In 2008 McAfee was named by the editors of the technical publishing house Ziff-Davis number 38 in their list of the “100 Most Influential People in IT.” He was also named by Baseline magazine to a separate, unranked list of the 50 most influential people in business IT that year. In 2009 he was the only non-executive in the Everything Channel’s group of the 100 most influential executives in the technology industry. McAfee is currently a principal research scientist at the Center for Digital Business in the MIT Sloan School of Management, and a fellow at the Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet and Society. He received his Doctorate from Harvard Business School, and completed two Master of Science and two Bachelor of Science degrees at MIT.

Bruce Richardson

Bruce has more than 30 years experience in high tech. He began his tech career in 1980 as one of the first analysts at Yankee Group. For the last 18 months Bruce served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Infor Global Solutions, a $2 billion global software company. Prior to joining Infor, he spent nearly 20 years with AMR Research, where he was the Chief Research Officer until the company’s acquisition by Gartner in December 2009. During his career at AMR Research, he led or initiated much of the company’s analysis of new software markets. His popular weekly “First Thing Monday” blog had over 39,000 subscribers in nearly 100 countries. His current passions include the convergence of prediction markets, social intelligence, Big Data, and data visualization — and the Red Sox. He also serves on the board of BackOffice Associates. Bruce graduated cum laude from Boston College.

John Hubinger

John is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of Virtus Genetic and is a serial technology entrepreneur with a long track record of innovation and leadership. Previously John held positions as VP of Software Development at Oracle Inc., CEO and Founder at AmberPoint Inc. (acquired by Oracle Inc.), VP at Sun Microsystems (reported to the president, running one of the Java divisions), VP World-Wide Sales at Forte Software Inc. (IPO 1996), VP and Co-Founder of Camenco Inc., VP and Regional Manager at KnowledgeWare Inc., Marketing Manager at IBM, Architect, System Analyst and Scientist at NASA, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), and the California Institute of Technology (CIT). John graduated from UC Berkeley, where he studied computer science and economics, and where he continues to lecture and mentor at the Graduate MBA program at the Haas School of Business.

Dr. Michael Pliner

Dr. Michael Pliner has over 30 years experience in computer software and systems technology, general management, and business development. Dr. Pliner has founded, financed, and built three successful high technology businesses. Dr. Pliner co-founded Verity Inc., serving as Chairman, President, and CEO. He also co-founded Sytek Inc serving as its Chairman and CEO. Currently Dr. Pliner is a consulting entrepreneur serving on the Boards or advisory Boards of several high technology companies. His primary interests are in networking, search, security, and enterprise software technologies.
